(Other) Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from residents about the HVAC replacement project. For anything not covered here, ask Dusty above or contact the operations manager.

How long will work take in my apartment?

Plan on about 4–5 weeks per fan coil unit (FCU). Apartments with multiple FCUs may span a few months because units are replaced one at a time.

Do I need to be home while work is happening?

No. Most residents leave a lockbox so workers can access the apartment between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on workdays. You do not need to take time off.

How do I prepare my apartment?

Clear at least a 5 ft × 5 ft area around each fan coil unit, remove fragile items from nearby shelves, and cover or relocate sensitive electronics. Workers will lay protective floor covering, but pre-clearing the area speeds the work and reduces dust exposure to your belongings.

Will it be loud or dusty?

The first 3–4 days (demolition) are the loudest and dustiest phase. After that, noise drops considerably. Crews use containment and HEPA vacuums, but expect some construction dust in the work area.

Can I stay in my apartment during the work?

Yes, most residents do. You will be without heating/cooling from that FCU during its replacement window, so plan accordingly — especially in extreme weather. If you work from home, the loudest days may be disruptive.

What about my pets?

Pets should be secured in a closed room away from the work area, or boarded for the loudest days. Workers will be coming in and out, and doors may be propped open while equipment is moved.

How will I control the new system?

Each FCU gets a Honeywell T10 smart thermostat. A short video linked above walks through setup and daily use. You can also control it from the Honeywell Home app on your phone.

What if something gets damaged?

Report any damage to the front desk immediately and ask them to notify the operations manager. Document with photos. The contractor carries insurance for construction-related damage.

Who do I contact if there's a problem?

For day-of issues, contact the front desk first. For project-level concerns, email operationsmanager@4620NorthParkCondo.com.
